Soft and tender. Dolce&Gabbana SS RTW 2011

(Collage by me. All from Tumblr, Painting:Jacqueline Williams, Crosses: Ruby Rose 109)

Hello!
I have decided to make a new category of posts that will feature my favorite looks or items from my most favorite catwalks! Please remember that not the whole catwalk is featured. You may want to take a look at Vogue-Fashion shows to see all the looks in the fashion show. As you can see, I attached several images  that are associated in my mind with the type of vibe that I get from the show.
Also, this post is tagged tender, as it is my most felt feeling and aesthetic.

While I must admit that I am quite fond of Dolce&Gabbana, as I find their designs very detailed and sometimes quite humorous, the runway featured in this post has touched me deeply, much more than others. For many years it has been my most favorite runway show. Other than my sentimentality, it would be helpful to tell you a bit about it.

While it plays on the "pure", almost virginal concept, it was interesting to see that the show featured pieces which may at first glance seem contradicting to the "airy" feeling which the dominant white lace gives. I am talking about the leopard print, chunky heels and golden hoop earrings, all of which are sometimes considered "tacky" (with which I disagree!). However, I must admit that my favorite pieces were the lacey, romantic pieces. On Vogue (previously Style.com), Nicole Phelps wrote about the show: "The idea behind this quite lovely show, the designers explained backstage, was a hope chest. That is, the things new and handed down that a bride might pack before she sets off on the next chapter of her life."

This Collection also reminds me very much of one of my favorite Czech films "Valerie and her Week of Wonders", which I recommend you very much! The aesthetics are amazing! (I will someday make a post with screencaps from the film!)
